Candidates answer thirty multiple choice questions on AS topics. All questions are compulsory, and candidates answer on the question paper. There are 30 marks for this paper. (30% of total marks at AS Level)

This is a structured question paper. There are usually 3 questions based on topics from the whole of the syllabus. All questions are compulsory, and candidates answer on the question paper. There are 90 marks for this paper. (70% of total marks at AS Level)

Structured Questions 3 hours Paper 3 tests the additional content for the A Level, but also requires a knowledge and understanding of the AS Level content.
